How long will it take to set up my account?

We have extensive automatic checks in place which will verify your information you have submitted to us. Once you have passed these tests, your account will be setup instantly. In some cases we may have to call the phone number provided or ask you to send us a legal ID to verify your identity. A passport and a utility bill (not older than 3 months) will help us verify your address and process your account setup.

Why should I backup if my hosting provider already advertises that they backup my website?

Webhosting providers tend to backup large amounts of data at once. Because of this, they usually only run weekly backups. Most Webhosting providers also charge a fee for them to restore the backup for you. If your webhost closes down or has any long downtime you will have the peace of mind that you have a backup with us. To eliminate the risk of losing data, backup daily!

Why should I backup with you if I already do backups myself?

Backups are usually placed on the same hard disk as the website that the backup is of. If something happened to that hard disk, your backups will be lost as well as the website. Backup processes also need to be run regularly to ensure that all the latest data is backed up. Our service eliminates those risks and give you the peace of mind that you don't have to worry about your data if something goes wrong with your website.

What level of of management are you offering?

We offer a simple management system; we manage the servers and you take care of your backups. Our Staff monitor the server uptime and activity around the clock. If anything happens, rest assured that a Data Centre Engineer will be alerted and working on the server until the problem is solved. Weekly Security Audits and monthly staff training keeps our Staff up to date with the latest technical knowledge. Our first priority is making sure your data is safe and secure.

We offer fully unmetered premium Bandwidth and every server is connected to the internet with a 1GBps port- your only speed limit is the port speed!

Why should I trust you with my backup files?

We have an extensive privacy policy in place which protects your personal details and your files. If you don't want to store plain files on our server, you could use an encryption tool such as Duplicity. The archives that duplicity produces can be encrypted and signed using GnuPG, the standard for free software cryptology. The remote location will not be able to infer much about the backups other than their size and when they are uploaded. Also, if the archives are modified on the remote side, this will be detected when restoring.

How many websites can I backup with one account?

You can backup as many servers as you want on our backup servers- the only limitation is the amount of backup space you have.

How large is the risk that your servers fail at the same time when my website fails?

This risk is pretty low, our servers have redundant power supplies, redundant network connections and hard drives running in RAID. If any hard drive fails, our servers will keep running and can the failed hard drives will be replaced without risking any downtime at all. In more serious cases we might schedule maintenance to shutdown the server so that we can replace the hard drive and minimise even the slightest chance of data loss.

Can I upgrade my backup package later?

Yes, we may have to move you to another server but generally it's always possible to upgrade.
